I am going to be breaking this post into 4 sections- Best Paid for Iphone, Best Free for Iphone, Best Paid for Android, Best Free for Android so here we go.

Best Free Racing Apps for Android

Hill Climb Racing is my top pick for Android.  Being in a mixed family(Android for kids, Iphone for my wife, and my work issued Blackberry) I can tell you this is the most played racing game.  As you can see from the screenshot on the left this is not a super graphics intensive game.  It has only two real functions gas and break.  Well I say break put it is really just slow down, in fact pushing the break in mid air which in real life would do absolutely nothing is an essential manuever to keep the nose of the car down and not flip over!  The physics in this game aren't quite real but it doesn't detract from the fun.  You get the hang of it real quick.  Amazing how addicting a relatively simple game can be.  You must occasionally get some more gas to keep going and it seems everyone wants to get to the next level ASAP.   Fun, addicting a true winner.

Best Paid Racing Apps for Android and Iphone!

Need For Speed - Most Wanted  -   

Well right away you can tell A TON more went into this game than the free app above.  Made by probably the top franchise available on game consoles and arcades everywhere Need For Speed is a industry leader.  There is an awesome graphics capability with this game just make sure your phone is up to the task as this game pushes the limits.  It looks good on my sons Motorola Photon 4G for instance but I tried it on a cheaper pre-paid phone a friend of ours has running android and it was very jumpy.  Brand name cars, awesome graphics, great game play with some customization makes this a winner for the advanced phone app gamer.  Note: Plays nearly same on good Android Phone and Wife's Iphone 4.  Looks even better on my buddy's Iphone 5 but identical gameplay.

Best Free Racing Apps for Iphone

Granny Smith is HILARIOUS.  My kids and I can't help but to laugh when playing this game.  You are an old grandma character someone chasing down a thief and getting the apples first.  It's just crazy to see "Granny" propelled on skates and getting push offs with her cane.  Did I mention she can do some amazing flips the envy of Olympic gymnast?   The graphics are smooth albeit a little simple, but that is part of the appeal.  It is a throwback to cartoon days that have since been replaced with computer graphics. Definitely kid friendly but something here for the adults too.    get it you'll like it.
